So, Since its rained and rained and well.....rained. The roads out of Santa Cruz are closed. The funny thing is i was going to buy my ticket out today and stopped to eat; (a delcious $1 meal including a BBQ chicken, Rice, and papas fritas....French fries) When on the T.V came the news showing the road closures. Which I understood watching on the T.v, but If I got to the train station I dont think I would of understood why I couldn´t buy a ticket.
I could fly out but it´s a difference from about $8 compared to $100....It stopped raining today and cleared up, the roads dry fast so thats hopeful.
TherĂ©´s a few day trips near here that I may go on if the roads don´t open soon.....I´ve enjoyed it here, Nice laid back city, enjoyable people, however I´m itching to play with animals.
Oh....and you can buy puma shoes here for 6 bucks...crazy!

Sounds as if you are making the best of a wet situation. I hope you continue on your travels soon. Do you find that you are tired from trying to understand the language? Or do you talk to a lot of English-speaking people? And...what's the time difference? What does it smell like there?
Oh... what a loaded question, what does it smell like... Im so glad you got there snug as a bug! eek. I miss you here... I did what I thought was all my econ homework this weekend, then when I logged back onto the econ website, I apparently only did one of three modules. WHy not just make it all run through the whole thing! AUGH! so instead of getting a 70% which was pretty good since I dont care about the course, I got like, 12% because I missed 2/3 of it. URGH. just thought I would share that story so you can laugh at me. Miss you.
Alex
So with all this water falling on and around you, is it still warm? Looks like you are on the edge of the Amazon jungle, looking at the map I have. According the color code, it looks like you are between 900 meters (2970 ft) and 1800 meters (5940 ft). Is that about right? Anyway it is good to hear that you made it there OK.
